About Burmese Breakfast

Burmese Breakfast: Serving Delicious Delicacies on Sundays Between 8am-1pm.

Located at 83-17 Broadway, Elmhurst, NY 11373, Burmese Breakfast operates as a burmese restaurant serving Elmhurst in New York. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it. Besides its main category, the business also describes itself as asian restaurant, so it may cover more than the name suggests.

This group covers Japanese, Korean, Thai, Vietnamese, Indian and other Asian cuisines that are not Chinese, and the etiquette varies by kitchen. Japanese and Korean restaurants often take reservations for dinner and may add a service charge for large groups; Thai and Vietnamese spots are usually walk-in and quick-turnover. Spice levels are frequently adjustable on request at Thai, Indian and Sichuan-adjacent menus, so say if you want it mild or hot. Korean BBQ restaurants typically charge per person for all-you-can-eat service with a time limit, and grills are shared at the table. Vietnamese pho shops post bowl sizes (regular or large) and a plate of herbs, bean sprouts and lime is normal to add yourself. Card and tap-to-pay are widely accepted; cash-only is more common at small family-run counters.

The food options are authentic and tasty. It gives me nostalgia and reminds me of my travels in Myanmar. The food is similar to the street food found there (this is a good thing). There is so many food options it is hard to try them all. When we got there around noon, tea leaf salad was already sold out which was disappointing. Also, the coffee and tea stand offered average tea (not worth it). The tables where you dine in, are not clean and full of stains. Overall it’s a good and unique experience, but it’s not perfect. I had very high expectations, and it was not fully met.

Overall rating: 4.9 Only lost a point because of its hours, I wish it was open longer for those visiting from Brooklyn. There are 3x vendors on the top floor, so deciding was a bit hard. I don’t even know what I got but it was delicious. I kind of wish I brought Tupperware. A must try.

fun experience! slightly anxiety inducing for a solo diner who's easily overwhelmed like me, but you basically visit one of the three individual vendors to order your dish of choice and find an open seat at the dimsum tables. the vendors do not sell the same items. i got my mohinga from the booth in the middle (which took venmo, but bring cash jic!), and they put the bowl together in record speed + let you add limes, lime juice, fish sauce(?), cilantro, fried onion, and chili powder to taste. the family i sat with were kind, and the dish itself was very spicy and savory & right up my alley. the atmosphere is very family oriented - lots of friendly people and chatter in different languages. there's a little area against one of the walls to return bowls + spoons and throw away trash. would be back to try the other stalls :)

A hidden gem in Elmhurst for Burmese breakfast. The dishes were comforting, flavorful, and packed with unique spices. A great spot to start the day and explore authentic Burmese cuisine.

you gotta try the mohinga, that’s the national burmese dish! make sure to dress it with an ample amount of crispy shallots, chili flakes, and cilantro (they are out! it’s hearty and warm. i also thoroughly enjoyed the tossed noodle salad - it’s a cold dish with strong notes of umami fish sauce! it's a really informal setup here, when we went it seems like there are 3 different stalls with 3 different vendors. where you order, then pay at the stall, then sit down. (DEFINITELY, secure your seat first with a jacket prior to ordering!). a lot of dishes sell out at around 12pm - so i recommend coming here early! the trains and buses are nearby and on sundays you do not have to pay for the meter on the street if you drive! ethnic enclaves are what makes queens exactly what it is, may these community hubs be forever protected and supported <3
